Re: My best effort so far, a 300B SET
Lovely build! I have to ask about the tube rings and also about the mA meter. I need to source a couple for my 3C24 build coming up. Any info or is it in the video?

Bench Power Supply Search (Info and WTB)
Hello guys and gals. I am looking for a bench power supply to experiment with. Something that will run up to 500V and maybe have a LV tap as well. The choices on Ebay are staggering so recommendations would also be welcome.
TIA

Re: Capacitor input versus choke input
Nice discussion here. I am planning for a mercury rectifier PS in my next build using 866As. I think I remember something about those needing a choke as the input. Any thoughts on that subject?

Re: What am I Seeing Here?
The OD3s give me 295 B+ and about 150V on the plate. Will scope the waveforms a bit later. Someone recommended chokes instead of plate resistors. Hammond 156C was the recommendation.

Re: What am I Seeing Here?
Thanks for all that!
I could try the OD3, that would give me regulated 300V I believe.
This is going to sound really stupid but why do I need a plate resistor at all? If I have 214V B+, can't I just eliminate the resistor? Obviously, I need better understanding of tube circuits!

Re: What am I Seeing Here?
Two volts seems possible without distortion. Works fine in most situations but I would like more "headroom" for certain situations. There are two tubes in each channel. A #76 as the first gain stage and a 2C22 as the second. Both tubes have a leak resistor the # 76 has a 1M and the 2C22 ha...

Re: What am I Seeing Here?
So, I'm trying to determine why my waveform flattens at higher volume. I have the yellow channel on the output and the blue channel on the grid of the second stage tube. Note the difference in shape and PP voltage. There is feedback in the circuit, I wonder if that could be the issue. Both channels ...

Re: What am I Seeing Here?
No change in the performance from inception. Just trying to wring all the performance that I can out of this project.

Re: What am I Seeing Here?
The load resistors I am adding at the jacks and well as measuring at are 47K.
