Re: SME 3009 or micro-seiki 505

Hi

I bought an SME 3009 with detachably head shell, the arm had a faulty lift, so i have to ad silicon oil (if I want to us it, normally don't actually), I have seen information of both 100 kcSt and 300 kcSt, someone knows the correct viscosity to use for the SME lift?

AVO_MK3_fixing

Hi Had plan to build a record player as next project, but then I ran in to this nice AVO meter to 1/3 of the normal price, so some fixing of that will be the next task instead. Changing the Capacitor's (not many), checking / adjusting resistors, I know some people say you should change them al, but ...

Re: SME 3009 or micro-seiki 505

Hi Dan Its sounds that I should focus on SME than, however I want to use detachable head shell, so I easily can compare the homebuilt arm VS the OEM arm. How does that type of SME3009 arms work with MC cartridge that has compliance around 15? I have no hum (if amp on very high volume, and you have t...

Re: SME 3009 or micro-seiki 505

Hi Hugo Thanks, I leaning towards the MSE also, but it seems to be quit more expensive, in Europe its about same prized, but in Japan you can find lower priced Micro-Seiki, so it might in the end be Micro-Seiki unless I find a good deal on a SME 3009. The picture is my DIY RIAA (EAR clone, boards fr...

SME 3009 or micro-seiki 505

Hi I m planning to build an record player, in order to experiment with DIY tonearms, purely for the fun of it. I have purchased a denon PD3000 motor unit (on its way from Japan, hope it’s in ok status when it arrives). I will us two arms, one that I experiment on, but also an normal as reference, so...

Re: Yamamoto A08S clone

After some more hours, I managed to adjust one side to 1,4% THD (1w). that was with an used WE 717A tube, on the other side, it stayed at 2,3%, that with an Tung solo NOS tube. So I will by some more WE tubes and se how they behaves. And maybe some C3G tubes, that I have seen used as 45 driver in si...

Re: Yamamoto A08S clone

Hi Dan, thanks
I will play around with some more variations of connections for the 717A tub, but this might be the level this tube produce, the sound is wery good at medium level (maybe 1/2 W or so), and then THD is <1%.

Yamamoto A08S clone

Hello I have now finalized (at least first version of the amp) my YamamotoA08 clone. I found a nice industry looking case on action site that I have used, Bought the output transformers on E-bay from Ukraine, hand wounded on old military irons. First I planned to use DC filament, but the main transf...

Re: A budget 300B build based on Edcor Iron

Hi Stephe_k.
The amp locking very fine! have found your YouTube channel recently, Excellent videos, many thanks!
I uses an 300b with 6sn7 driver (Audio Note kit 1), its sounds quite good, but uses couplings caps, clips almost equal on both + and - side.

Re: Max plate voltage on 45 tubes?

Hi Tom. Thanks. then I stay with the current voltage level, still missing some parts to get the driver (717A) tube in to correct boundaries, so its a week or two before I know what that "special" 45 sounds is like.
