I second the recommendation. I subscribed to Ray's channel a couple of weeks ago.
Man, that NAD board was BBQ'd!

Re: Capacitor replacements question
This is as close as I can find for an in stock capacitor. The size is dead on, but it is snap mount. You should be able to modify the snap mount tangs to make them work. I am afraid you are going to find very little product in a solder lug configuration. https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/co...

Re: Tektronix TDS 360 Dallas Battery Replacement
I run an old Pentium 90 box for my ancient version of CLIO (the hardware needs a full length ISA slot). One day, about five years ago, the computer would not boot. Traced the problem to a dead BIOS battery. I searched the board over for the battery, none to be found. This was my introduction to the ...

Re: SME 3009 or micro-seiki 505
I would not use a Series II Improved fixed headshell with a lower compliance MC cartridge. The SII Imp. Fixed was SME's model to compete with the ultralight arms of the day (think Infinity Black Widow). All of the removable headshell 3009's have a higher effective mass. Just look up the specs. on th...

Re: SME 3009 or micro-seiki 505
As much as I like Japanese audio products, when it comes to tonearms, I am SME all the way😃. I run a Series V and a 3009 Series II Improved fixed headshell (light arm good for high compliance MM only). I would call the folks at smetonearms.com in Canada to see what they want for a completely rebuilt...

Tube Electronic Crossover
Hello, Just finished testing my Pete Millett based tube crossover. Inserted it into the main system today. It displaces my 20+ y/o Marchand XM-9 electronic crossover. The tube crossover sounds incredible! Dead quiet save for a miniscule level of 60hz hum ( have to put your head into the woofer cone ...

Awesome repurposing of the case, and I really like your use of the vertical space for the layout! I hope that you can get the distortion issue worked out. Keep us posted.

Re: Engineers Amplifier and VTA PH-14
Absolutely stunning work! I am a sucker for silver faceplates and you really set them off against the zebrawood. How do you like Pete's "EA"? On paper it looks great. A nice mix of distortion cancellation circuitry. The harmonic structure on the FFT's on his website look really good. I am ...
