Variac as bucking transformer
I have this very large Variac that works well and is rated at 22 amps. Would anyone use this as a way to bring the line voltage down to hook up all your tube gear. I could plug a power strip into the variac and have all my tube gear plugged in to that. I refrain from plugging 2 mono blocks and 2 tub...

NOS Orange drops- would you use?
Got these NOS orange drops at a flea market this weekend. Just curious what people think about their usability. Based on the packaging I'm guessing they are at least 35+ years old. Assuming they tested good would you use them in an amplifier? (feel free to elaborate on why/why not)

HH SCOTT 299D Sams PHOTOFACT?
Hello. I was wondering if anyone may have a SAMS PHOTOFACT for the HH SCOTT 299-D. I have been able to find the schematic on line but not the complete photofact. I am not sure one even exists for this model. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

This is a great idea! Not sure I have anything interesting to show, so I would advocate for just being able to join in and watch

The future of vintage audio : Availability of stuff for gear?
I will try to make this as short as possible but wanted to say a few things before the question(s). I have really been in to music since my early teens and more recently (last 4-5 years) tube audio. I have acquired some tube gear and that has become my main listening platform. I have become very int...

Hi, My name is Tony and I live just east of Pittsburgh. I have been watching Mark's videos and trying to learn as much about tube audio as I can to work on some of my own gear and stuff that I pick up at flea markets and estate sales, etc. This is a great idea and I look forward to the information t...
