I am particular to the 5U4G for two reasons:
1. The coke bottle 5U4GB looks awesome (most 5AR4's have a shorter beer can envelope)
2. I have a 90% vintage Sylvania 5U4GB that I would like to use in place of the 5AR4
Will this work? I suspect the voltage would be reduced a little when using a 5U4G instead of a 5AR4, but I don't plan to run EL34's or KT120's so I was thinking that this substitution would work.
Any thoughts are appreciated.
