Mentoring needed

Post by davidosborne »

My buddy and I are new to debugging old hifi equipment and need some help getting started. If anyone is out there who would be willing to spend some time with us we'd really appreciate it - and we'd compensate you of course. We'd start a project, send the schematics, discuss the problems and hopefully get some guidance on where to start and what to check/replace....We figure hands on is the best way to learn this stuff.
Thanks for considering

I could help you but I won't accept payment for it. We're here to help each other out. I won't have "all of the answers" but I used to repair TVs and stereos in the late 60's through about 1980. After that, I worked for HP and had various engineering (including test engineering) positions FWIW.

Hands on is definitely the way to learn. Making mistakes helps too :-)

Why not post the correspondence in this thread? It would be educational for others to follow the thought process.
