Removing and reinstalling circuit boards

Post by supernoob »

Mark, how about a short video showing the best way to remove for service and reinstalling curcuit boards? Particularly, those connections that have the wires wrapped around pins. I know this kind of stuff is most likely routine to most experienced techs but I’m sure many will benefit from seeing how it should be done.

Its not that simple and routine. They are a royal PITA most of the time and sadly time consuming. I hate to say 'it depends' but it does very much from unit to unit. I'll put it on the list but personally not so motivated by SS work these days and thus haven't been making many SS oriented videos. Might have to make this one when I retire.

I think people often end up leaving the wire wrap, and desoldering the pin its wrapped to from the board.
I also stay clear of solid state gear but that was s probably I was once forced to overcome.
