Hi,
My name is Mark Walker. I'm into vintage audio gear, mostly tube based. I am enamored by single ended amplifiers (SET) and the sound they produce from just a few watts. My main passion is learning so I push myself constantly to pick up new tidbits of information and new ways of thinking about things. I live in North Carolina near Winston Salem. Looking forward to getting to know some of my viewers.

Hi everyone, my name is Kasey and I'm from Upstate NY.
I enjoy tinkering with all types of electronics, especially vintage audio amplifiers. I'm currently working on restoring a neglected Heathkit W-4AM.
Looking forward to learning repair tips from other members and patiently waiting for Marks first amp building class!

Hello, Alun here from over the pond, did my electronics with audio engineering degree 20 years ago, never really used it and became a house husband to look after my daughter, I got bored during the lockdown and started taking an interest in electronics again, my final year project at university was a 2A3 p-p amplifier designed and built from the ground up, I never really got around to finishing it the way I’d like, and it just sat in my shed, and I’m now going to finish it and tune it to be just the way I want it with 300B and 6SN7 valves. I stumbled across Blueglow on YouTube and really liked the content and style, I saw the latest video announcing this group, so here I am.

My father was an service technician in one of his many careers after vietnam, taught me alot in my younger years and I really enjoy working on older gear.

Hello and thank you for letting me join.. I have been a stereo hunny since 1969 when I converted my now deceased brothers guitar amp into a monoblock amp for my 9volt transistor radio and cobbled pair of speakers I found on the curb.. I was 7 at the time and have been addicted since.. I have enough knowledge to get me into trouble.. Just starting to learn more about tube gear for which I only have a douk tube preamp and a pair of phase lin 400 powered amps for my main system. Looking forward to learn from you all.. Have worked for myself for 45 years as a general contractor in the Chicago area. But stereos are my addiction with custom cabinets my second passion. Hence I build a lot of speakers. Thanks again

Looking forward to building my first high voltage tube amp

Post by Thermal Alchemy »

I’ve been following Mark videos for years in anticipation to teach myself to build a tube amp.

In automotive mechanic by trade and owner operator of a HVAC and automotive business specializing in thermal management HVAC

I have built low-voltage headphone tube amplifiers to test the waters and get my practicing based on Pete Millet designs.
Also solid state based on Nelson Pass designs.

Started taking electronics engineering classes at night a couple years ago every other semester one class just for fun for self knowledge and the hobby understanding. Even though I am a D student at the math part.

Even though I know very little about amplifiers. When it comes to managing and moving heat with the use of design and materials is where I Excel

Look forward to the beginning of this form

Hello,
My name is Dave W. I have started a new hobby working on, tuning and understanding the electronics in my audio equipment. I have set up a bench and acquired a Tektronix 2245a oscilloscope, a veriac, built a current limiter and watched ~ 3 million YouTube videos. I find electronics extremely interesting and look forward following and learning from Mark’s latest venture.
Thanks,
Dave
